Beyion Studio: From 3 to 20+ Employees Without In-House IT Team

Client: Beyion Studio

Year: 2026

Beyion Studio

"I understood IT, but I needed a whole team of experts to cover every angle."

- Sébastien Bessette, CO-CEO and Chief Technology Officer, Beyion Studio

About Beyion Studio

Beyion Studio started with three founders.

Sébastien handled the technology side of the business. Mario focused on operations, management, and business development. Daniel led the creative vision.

That mix matters because video game projects depend on all three areas working together.

The technology has to perform. The creative direction has to work. And the project still has to make sense from a business perspective.

As Sébastien puts it:

“A game can have a strong technical foundation, a great creative direction, or a solid business vision. But when one of those three areas falls behind, you notice it in the final result right away.”

Beyion works with major video game studios on demanding and often confidential projects. Quality, stability, and the player experience must all meet a high standard.

As demand grew, the team began hiring quickly.

And with every new employee came a new set of IT needs.

Beyion realized it needed more than occasional technical help. It needed an IT partner that could help the company grow without slowing the team down.

About our client

Challenge

When a company only has three people, IT can feel fairly simple.

The founders know which tools everyone uses. They know who should have access to what. And when something goes wrong, they can usually deal with it directly.

But that changes quickly when the team starts growing.

New contracts led to new hires. Each person needed a computer, but preparing the computer was only the beginning.

Accounts had to be created. Licenses had to be assigned. Collaboration tools had to be configured. Employees needed access to the right projects and environments. Their devices had to be protected. And when someone left, that access had to be removed properly.

That is a lot to keep track of when you are also managing clients, projects, deadlines, and a growing team.

Beyion’s projects also came with specific security requirements.

The team could be working with game builds, production assets, development environments, confidential client documents, or tools shared with other studios.

Major clients want clear answers to questions such as:

  • Who has access to this information?
  • Which device are they using?
  • How is that device protected?
  • What happens to their access when the project ends?

A forgotten account or an unsecured device is not just a minor internal issue.

It can affect the confidentiality of a project, the relationship with the client, and Beyion ’s ability to meet its contractual obligations.

Remote work added another challenge.

The team was not working from one office, where someone could simply walk over to a desk and fix a problem. Devices had to be prepared, managed, monitored, and secured remotely.

Support requests also needed a clear process.

Otherwise, every issue would keep coming back to the same person.

And that person was often Sébastien.

He understood the technical side. He knew what had to be done. The problem was not a lack of knowledge.

He simply did not have enough time—or enough hands—to manage it all himself.

Beyion had reached a point many growing companies eventually reach: IT could no longer be handled one request at a time.

At the same time, building a full internal IT department would have required time, money, and management attention that the company still needed for its clients, projects, and hiring.

So Beyion decided to put a stronger structure in place before IT became a problem.

Approach

Sébastien was not looking for someone to explain the basics of IT to him.

He already had a clear vision for Beyion’s technology environment. He understood the risks, the client requirements, and the type of structure the company would need as it grew.

What he needed was a team that could keep up with him.

A team that could challenge his thinking when needed, answer more specialized questions, and bring in the right expertise without making him search for a different provider every time a new issue comes up.

From the beginning, Louis-Philippe, an Account Manager at Genatec, understood that.

Beyion was not just a small company asking for occasional support.

It was a fast-growing business working on sensitive projects for demanding clients. And one person inside the company was already carrying a large part of the IT workload.

When Louis-Philippe could answer a question directly, he did. When more specialized expertise was needed, he brought in the right person.

When it required deeper expertise, he brought in the right person—whether the issue involved cybersecurity, devices, Microsoft tools, system configuration, or user support.

That made a real difference for Sébastien.

Instead of having one contact who was expected to know everything, he had one contact who could connect him with an entire team of specialists.

A complicated question no longer stayed unanswered because it was too technical.

Decisions were based on proper validation rather than assumptions.

And most importantly, every IT-related request no longer landed automatically on Sébastien’s desk.

Louis-Philippe kept the communication moving, coordinated the right resources, and came back with answers the team could actually use.

Sébastien kept control of the vision and the important decisions. Genatec handled the follow-ups, technical work, and day-to-day execution.

“We combined my vision with Genatec’s best practices. That was really important to me when choosing a partner.”

Our solutions

Our solutions

Workstations Built for the Job

Beyion employees are not using standard office laptops to check email and browse the web.

They work in video game production.

They need powerful workstations built with the right components and capable of running demanding software and handling heavy workloads.

Genatec helps Beyion prepare, configure, and manage those devices.

The goal is simple: when someone joins the team, their workstation is ready for the work they actually need to do.

“They took on our stress and our challenges with us. When you’re growing quickly, having a responsive, proactive team that keeps things moving makes a huge difference.”

- Sébastien Bessette, Beyion Studio

Accounts and Licenses

A new employee also needs much more than a computer.

They need the right login credentials, Microsoft licenses, collaboration tools, and access to the systems they use every day.

Genatec manages account updates, access changes, and everyday requests that help employees keep working without unnecessary delays.

Device Management and Security

Beyion works on sensitive projects with clients that have their own security requirements.

That means devices need to be protected, and access carefully controlled.

The tools put in place allow the team to:

  • Manage computers remotely
  • Protect devices from cyberthreats
  • Control access to company and client information
  • Monitor the health of devices
  • Back up Microsoft 365 data

These protections help Beyion meet client expectations without asking Sébastien to personally monitor every device and account.

Employee Onboarding and Support

As the company grew, onboarding became one of the recurring areas that needed more structure.

Working with Elias and the support team, Beyion documented the steps involved in preparing a new employee.

That includes:

  • Preparing the equipment
  • Creating accounts
  • Assigning licenses
  • Setting up permissions
  • Completing the required security checks

Instead of rebuilding the process with every new hire, the team can now follow a clearer and more consistent approach.

Requests are easier to manage. New employees are better prepared. And the support team can step in more quickly when something needs attention.

Device management and security

“At first, we needed to understand how their team worked, especially when they were hiring. After a few conversations with Sébastien, we were able to document the process and handle the next requests much more efficiently.”

- Elias Sfeir, IT Team Lead, Genatec

Results

The biggest change is easy for Sébastien to measure: he spends much less time dealing with IT requests.

In practical terms, that means:

  • Fewer interruptions during the day
  • Fewer technical follow-ups to remember
  • Fewer requests waiting for Sébastien to become available
  • More time for projects, clients, employees, and business decisions
  • Microsoft Intune for remote device management
  • Microsoft 365 for communication and collaboration
  • EDR to protect workstations from cyberattacks
  • RMM to monitor device health proactively
  • Microsoft 365 backup
  • Identity and access controls

During this period, Beyion grew from three founders to more than 20 employees.

Its IT environment grew with it.

Support, cybersecurity, device management, Microsoft licenses, onboarding, offboarding, and everyday technical requests could all be handled without building a full internal IT department.

Since the beginning of the partnership, more than 100 requests have been completed.

That includes creating accounts, ordering equipment, renewing licenses, resolving technical issues, and securing devices.

Today, Beyion relies on a stronger technology foundation that includes:

For a distributed team, these are not just technical tools.

They are what allow employees to work from different locations, access the right information, and get support without everything having to go through one person.

VR games

“At first, I was handling 50%, 70%, and sometimes even more of the IT requests myself. Today, I handle less than 20%. The rest can go through Genatec.”

- Sébastien Bessette, Beyion Studio

What Comes Next

Beyion choses to structure its IT before it had a chance to slow the company down.

Today, Beyion has an IT structure that can grow with the business.

Sébastien still makes the important decisions. But he no longer has to personally manage every account, device, license, or support request.

The goal remains the same: give Beyion the structure it needs to keep growing, without adding more work to the team’s already busy days.

“It feels like we have our own technical team, just outside the company.”

  • How can managed IT services support a growing business?

Managed IT services give growing businesses access to the resources and expertise they need without having to build a full in-house IT department right away. A managed IT partner can handle day-to-day support, device management, cybersecurity, user accounts, licenses, and employee onboarding, allowing the company to stay focused on its clients and operations.

  • When should a company consider outsourcing its IT management?

A company may need an IT partner when IT requests keep falling on the same person, employee onboarding becomes harder to manage, or growth brings more devices, user accounts, and security requirements. Beyion Studio chose to put a stronger IT structure in place before these demands began slowing down the team.

  • How do managed IT services help protect remote teams?

Managed IT services make it possible to manage, monitor, and secure devices remotely. This can include endpoint protection, access controls, device health monitoring, Microsoft 365 backups, and removing access when an employee leaves the company or a project comes to an end.

  • Can managed IT services complement existing in-house technical expertise?

Yes. An IT partner does not have to replace the person responsible for technology within the company. The internal technical lead can retain control of the vision and key decisions, while the partner provides specialized expertise, coordinates the right resources, and handles day-to-day execution and support requests.

  • How should a company prepare its IT when hiring several employees quickly?

A clear process should be in place to prepare equipment, create user accounts, assign licenses, configure access, and apply the required security settings. At Beyion Studio, documenting these steps helped the company manage a period in which 10 employees were hired in just three weeks.
